Shock Wave Therapy for Chronic Tendon and Joint Pain in Highlands Ranch
Dr. Aaron Michael Casselman

How Shock Wave Therapy Works
Shock wave therapy delivers acoustic pressure pulses into injured tissue. Those pulses stimulate blood flow, break up scar tissue and calcifications, and trigger a fresh healing response in tendons and joints that have been stuck in chronic inflammation.
Conditions That Respond Well
- Plantar fasciitis
- Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
- Achilles tendinitis
- Rotator cuff tendinopathy
- Patellar tendinitis (jumper's knee)
- Trigger points and chronic muscle pain
What to Expect
Most protocols involve a short series of weekly sessions (typically 3–6). Sessions take 10–15 minutes. Patients usually return to normal activity immediately afterward, with results building over the following weeks as tissue remodels.
A Smarter Alternative
Shock wave is a strong option when stretching, bracing, anti-inflammatories, or even cortisone injections haven't resolved the problem — and when patients want to avoid surgery.
