Dr. Ryan’s journey into chiropractic care began as a competitive athlete, where an unexpected injury changed everything. After seeking help from multiple providers and being offered only temporary solutions, he discovered that the true cause of his pain was spinal misalignment affecting his body’s function. Through chiropractic care, he was able to restore alignment, heal naturally, and regain his performance—an experience that ultimately shaped his purpose and career. That transformation inspired Dr. Ryan to dedicate his life to helping others achieve the same results. He believes that true health comes from addressing the root cause of dysfunction, not just masking symptoms. His approach focuses on restoring proper spinal alignment so the body can function at its highest level—whether that means relieving pain, improving performance, or enhancing overall well-being. Today, Dr. Ryan is passionate about helping individuals and families at Whole Family Chiropractic in Anchorage, AK reach their full health potential. "Patient was driver in vehicle crossing through an intersection when suddenly an impaired motorist collided with the patient on the driver side. Patient was extracted with mechanical assistance from vehicle. He had loss of consciousness, immediate pain, and hearing loss following the automobile accident. He stated that his neck pain was worse that the back but that both were very distracting and made him unable to focus on his work. He had trouble attending to the needs of his children, his memory had become unreliable, and he had to use his phone to record people talk and then read it to understand what was being said. He had a professional occupation and was not used to this in any way. His brain MRI was negative however, his symptoms were positive for Traumatic Brain Injury. Upon evaluation and acceptance of his case, the patient excelled as expected. He had significant improvements in pain, hearing, and ability to function through his day by the end of his care plan."

"Patient stated that she was passenger in a vehicle that was proceeding through an intersection and experienced a side impact collision from a motorist operating at high speeds who failed to yield for a red light due to driving under the influence. The patient had loss of consciousness due to head trauma. She had pain immediately after the collision in her spine and extremities but was concerned about her children in the back seat. The car was pushed across multiple lanes of traffic and paramedics were at the scene almost immediately. She presented with significant debilitating pain in her neck, head, lower back, foot, and upper extremities. She was having trouble functioning normally in day-to-day simple tasks. Work, standing, bending, driving, sleeping, and caring for the household were extremely challenging. The patient was evaluated and accepted for care. She was compliant and tolerated the procedures well. Her effort allowed a return to all activity without pain."

"Patient was crossing intersection and experienced a side impact collision from a motorist who failed to yield. Upon impact she felt body "jerk" over seat belt. Right foot was on brake at time of impact and she felt immediate "jolt" in hip and low back. She had pain following collision and was later diagnosed on MRI with a confirmed significant disc herniation (>7mm) that was placing pressure on the spinal cord. The patient experienced loss of muscle control, weakness, constant pain and dysfunction and was unable to care for herself, her children, her home, or her clients at work. Patient could not bend to tie shoe, take dishes from dishwasher, or fold clothes without pain. Could not get up normally without sharp, debilitating pain. She was accepted for treatment upon evaluation of her case. Patient required medication - prescribed and over-the-counter to assist in management of pain. "Initially the patient had "just woke up with pain" in his shoulder. He thought it would "go away". It progressively worsened until he was able to get it evaluated. "Patient reported that she was a state level track athlete specializing in hurdles. She injured her hamstring 2 years prior during a training session. She had not had relief up to becoming a patient in our office. At the time, the patient had been favoring her injured leg, stopped training, had trouble with home and work responsibilities and was getting progressively more frustrated and fatigued. She presented to us as the extremity pain progressed into low back pain, hip pain, and sciatica. Her situation was progressively worsening and she could not find answers.
