I was under the assumption that just because I 'looked good' and 'felt good,' I must therefore be healthy. What patients are saying about their care
"Our patient presented to the office with injuries from whiplash trauma following a motor vehicle collision. She stated that she was turning in an intersection and another motorist who did not yield for a red light impacted her vehicle on the driver's side. She suddenly felt her body jerk quickly side-to-side during the impact and noted that she experienced abrupt head trauma. When she tried to exit the vehicle she was unable due to the door being damaged and she immediately felt achy and sharp pain in her neck that radiated into her mid-back on the left side. She noted that it was worsening and causing her to be exhausted and develop a throbbing headache at the base of her skull on the left side that affected her ability to focus and concentrate. She was evaluated, diagnosed, and treated accordingly in our office with specific protocols to address the cause of her condition to reduce pain and restore function. She was compliant and achieved full resolution after her initial care plan."
"Patient reported to the office with severe headaches and migraines that were chronic and constant since she was ten years-old. The condition began "out of the blue" without any cause. She often became debilitated by them and would miss work and school to stay home because of the throbbing pain. She was bothered by lights and sounds and became nauseous as a result of them. In addition to the headaches and migraines she would often feel moderate to severe chronic neck pain of gradual onset. The neck pain at the base of the skull and top of her shoulders, had been progressively worsening over the last year as a result of her position in a non-ergonomic office assistant role that caused her to be at the computer for hours. The patient tried PT, ice, heat and Medications but they were not effective. She was tired of missing out and wanted to stop chasing symptoms. She was evaluated in our office, accepted for care, and received the desired outcome that she wanted - freedom from migraines."
"Patient reported to our office after experiencing injuries in the form of neck pain, back pain and headaches from a motor vehicle collision. He stated that the vehicle he was travelling in was suddenly hit from behind by another motorist who failed to yield for the stopped traffic and he was hit with enough force that his vehicle was pushed forward several feet. He immediately felt pain and unwell after his body jerked side to side and his head impacted the headrest forcefully. He was transported to the hospital where he received a CT and medication but no treatment. He felt the pain become a constant ache at the base of his skull that radiated into his shoulders and that became sharp with certain movements. He couldn't focus because of a throbbing headache that developed and could no longer work, exercise, sleep or play basketball without pain. He was evaluated, accepted for care and was compliant with his plan. All goals were achieved and no residual pain was reported."

"Patient reported to the office due to chronic neck pain, low back pain and sacroiliac joint pain in association with arm weakness and hand numbness. She had been diagnosed with hEDS and POTS as complications to her pain. She often felt fatigued and in pain to the point where she was debilitated from time to time. Patient recently had an occupation change and was now working at a desk (with poor ergonomic support) performing data entry and analysis. She stated that the pain had been worsening and escalating in intensity since changing jobs. She was having trouble focusing, always tired, and was frequently in pain. Additionally, as the pain was worsening she noticed she was more lightheaded and having more digestive difficulties. She was compliant with her care plan recommendations, tolerated the procedures well, and was able to achieve substantial improvement that resulted in significantly high satisfaction scores post treatment. She elected wellness care to maintain her results."

"Patient had reported to the office with chronic neck, upper back, and low back pain. She stated the pain had been off and on for years and "never really went away". She had seen a Gen. Practitioner, Physical Therapist, Medical Doctor, and other Chiropractors without success. The pain became sharp, stabbing, pinching and like a constant "knot" in the back of her head after she recently began her new occupation and was "stuck" at the computer for 8 hours per day. She stated that she has had great difficulty in walking, standing, exercising, driving, sitting, changing positions and sleeping without pain. She also states it has been very hard to play with her kids, plan birthday parties, and enjoy time with them. She has developed significant fatigue and frustration due to not getting any help for her condition before seeing our office. Once evaluated, she was determined to be a candidate for care, and she accepted the recommendations. She was compliant and achieved all desired results."

"Upon evaluation, the patient reported that he had chronic mild low back pain that would come and go gradually. But then 1 year prior to the exam, the pain became severe and debilitating after a lifting session in gym involving the patient using a t-bar row exercise and feeling a "pop" in his low back that made him immediately drop the weight and fall to the ground. He felt burning pain immediately and stopped the workout to go home and rest. Pain began to worsen shortly after from sharp/ shooting to debilitating to the point that he had to "crawl to bed". He tried medication, PT, and stretching but nothing helped. At time of exam, patient stated that he "felt like he was 80yrs old" due to pain. The patient reports the pain had wavered in intensity but still had days where he had to lay in bed all day. He was compliant with care after instruction and achieved his subjective and objective clinical results. He elected to pursue wellness care to maintain his healthier and stronger body."

"Patient reported with moderate constant to occasional severe low back pain that was diffuse from his belt line to his hips bilaterally. Pain had been worsening in frequency and intensity due to his physically demanding job and inability for other providers to appropriately diagnose the cause of the problem. The pain varied from sharp to dull to achy and no relief was experienced with medication, injections, or physical therapy. Pain was increased with extended periods of standing, when changing positions, sleeping, driving, sitting, and exercise. Patient reported he could no longer run at the time as a result of pain, which is what he most enjoyed doing. Pain had also been worsened during a recent jiu jitsu grappling session 3 weeks prior to the examination and had not improved. The patient was evaluated and diagnosed with structural weaknesses contributing to his condition. He was compliant with recommendations and achieved all goals and objectives and can now run without pain."

"Patient presented to the office with chronic mid back and low back pain related to adolescent idiopathic scoliosis diagnosis and recent trauma. Approximately 1 year prior to evaluation she was paddle-boarding on a lake and fell hard on the deck when trying to get back to shore. The pain took her breath away. She has had constant moderate and occasionally severe stabbing spasm-like pain, and that her left scapula is frequently "on fire" due to pain. She was frustrated and under duress because she could "never get comfortable". Previous Chiropractic Care with other offices, PT, Ice, heat, and medications were all ineffective or at best provided only temporary relief. She could not sleep, clean her home, perform a sit-up, bend, twist, work, or lift anything more than 15lbs due to pain. She was developing anxiety based on loss of function. Patient was compliant with care plan recommendations above and achieved all subjective and objective goals by the end of her treatment regimen."

"Patient reported to our office with reports of moderate to severe neck and upper back pain following Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) that occurred while turning in an intersection and then experiencing a side impact collision from another motorist who did not yield for a red light. Patient had significant neck pain from base of skull, to bottom of neck and extending into his upper back on both sides from head hitting the headrest "hard and abruptly". Pain was described as a constant and unrelenting stabbing and soreness sensation. Pain prevented ability to focus and concentrate at work, interrupted sleep, and prevented him from completing normal household chores and activities of daily living (ADLs). Patient had reported to urgent care but only received muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, and pain relievers which did not help and pain had been worsening. Patient reported to office, was evaluated, and began treatment. He remained compliant and achieved desired goals and outcomes."

"Patient reported with neck and shoulder pain. Moderate constant ache and occasionally severe sharp pinch. Difficult to move arm and pain eventually began to radiate into neck. Patient reported she had been traveling often, sleeping on awkward mattresses, changed workout routine, and woke up one day while away in significant pain and discomfort. Pain eventually progressed to the point where she could not even put her shirt on, give her son a high five, or clean around home without pain and needing to rest. Driving, exercise, and reaching all caused pain as well. Rest, ice, and medications helped take edge off but not correct the problem. She presented to our office frustrated by pain and lack of help from other providers. She was told she may need surgery. After evaluation a structural and shoulder rehab program was recommended and implemented. She remained compliant and achieved all goals. She is stronger, does not have pain, and is not limited physically as a result of treatment."

"Patient presented to the office with reports of moderate to Severe Chronic Right Low Back/ Sacroiliac Joint Pain and Right Hip Pain. Patient reports has been a problem for years. She states that it is episodic and intermittent and worse with sitting in jump seats on airplanes as a flight attendant. Most recent episode occurred while traveling as a passenger. Patient reports she fell asleep in awkward posture on plane and was suddenly awakened because of extreme hip, low back and sacroiliac joint pain. Patient reported she had trouble changing positions, deplaning, and walking without pain. She could not use stairs without pain and normal activities were causing pain - standing, walking, working, changing positions, driving, and even sleeping. Pain was sharp and achy, as well as relatively constant. Nothing helped to relieve the pain. Difficult to bend and extend because of pain. Patient began treatment after evaluation, remained compliant and achieved all goals for care."

"Patient reported to the office with low back pain that had been gradually worsening for 2 years. She was unable to exercise, travel, sleep, play tennis or softball, engage in social activity, and work without pain. Standing, changing positions, sitting, driving, and performing ADLs all were increasing her pain levels and becoming more challenging to do. She was also unable to provide care to her aging mother the way that she wanted. She had begun to gain weight from being less active, was not as productive at work, and was starting to become depressed as she was diagnosed with disc herniations and bulges that she was told were going to require surgery. She presented to the office in pain and distress looking for help. Upon exam, her spine and posture were discovered to be compromised and a program of care was offered. She understood the problem and solution. She wondered why she hadn't been told this before. She was compliant, completed treatment successfully, achieved her goals."

"Patient reported with "worst pain he ever had". When bending over to tie his shoes, he suddenly felt sharp, shooting, debilitating pain that was described as "knife-like", into his low back, sacroiliac joint and down to his foot. He had reported he was skiing the day before but that it was easy and uneventful. At the time of injury he could no longer ski, work, snowboard, walk, stand, sleep, exercise, and perform general ADLs (Activities of Daily Living - chores, dress, eat, etc). The patient stated that the pain was unrelenting and constant. He received muscle relaxants, pain relievers, and anti-inflammatories from urgent care but they were ineffective at resolving the pain. The patient was accepted for care in our office and immediately began treatment. In a short period of time symptoms resolved, structural rehabilitation was initiated, and eventually posture correction was achieved and no residual symptoms were reported. 1 Year follow up and still no pain reported or returned."

"Patient presented with chronic left-sided sciatica and low back pain with radiculopathy due to L5/S1 disc bulge. Patient was recommended fusion surgery and wanted to do everything possible to avoid it because of the physical nature of his occupation as an electrician and his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, and camping. Patient reported that "everything hurts all of the time" and the pain had been worsening gradually over the last 18-24 months. It was painful for the patient to sit, drive, stand, work and it interrupted sleep to the point the patient felt that he would go to bed tired and wake up tired. Patient was unsuccessful managing pain with medication and injections for long term relief. The patient was accepted for care and was compliant with recommendations. He was able to correct his posture, strengthen his core, improve his range of motion, and re-establish normal disc health with in-office protocols. He maintains an active lifestyle without restriction."

"Patient reported with chronic low back pain following crush-injury at work on construction site that was treated at the time with multiple surgical, pharmaceutical, and cortisone injections to resolve the pain but unsuccessfully resulted in spinal fusion. Pain persisted even after surgery and patient had experienced a massive lifestyle alteration of constant pain and pressure with limited range of motion, strength, and lifestyle modifications. Patient frequently still was experiencing neck, shoulder, knee and chest pain also. Pain was described as sharp and knife-like when severe and constant ache overall. Pain prevented even simple movements and activities, to the point he could not squat and was told he would not be able to do many normal activities any longer. Patient was emotionally distraught. He was not as strong as he wanted to be. Patient was committed and compliant during care. After treatment - pain resolved, ROM improved, posture was corrected, and life was happy and better"

"After falling off a snowmachine, the patient experienced a traumatic tear of the rotator cuff and significant neck, shoulder, and back pain. The patient initially was unable to lift their arm when laying on their back and could not perform basic tasks, such as dressing self, driving, working overhead, sleeping, or playing with kids, running, or exercise. The patient was an avid fitness enthusiast and could no longer perform upper body workouts at previous intensity. The patient was unable to use their arm at work and had to perform all movements only using their uninjured arm. After treatment the pain had subsided significantly, the neck pain had resolved, range of motion had been restored to normal levels, and within 3 months of completing treatment (9 months total), the patient was back to bench pressing over 300lbs and at pre-injury status. Most importantly, the patient was able to work, sleep, avoid surgery, and play "rocket-ship" with their daughter without pain or limitation."

He couldn't stand, work, sleep, drive, sit, bend over to tie shoes without pain. Also, patient reported that he suffered with cluster migraines every year lasting for weeks at a time. Frequently, he had to call in "sick" due to pain and musculoskeletal complaints. After 8 weeks under care in our clinic, all symptoms improved with resolution of cluster migraines. Pain was on her left side and radiated constantly into her arm and hand, which were "numb nearly all of the time". She reported that it was difficult to perform household chores - vacuum, dishes, cleaning, etc. She was also more "moody" as a result of the pain. She reported it was the "worst the neck and arm has ever felt" and was frequently associated with "bad vertigo/ dizziness" when looking up. After treatment, symptoms resolved entirely. Stretches, meds, injections all were ineffective at achieving relief. He was contemplating early retirement due to pain. The patient reported that he was unable to do yard work without excruciating spasms that would require an urgent care visit. He also stated that he could not squat or lunge due to pain. His sleep, work, social life, and free time were frequently interrupted and it had been years since he had slept through the night comfortably. "Patient reported that she was a state level track athlete specializing in hurdles. She injured her hamstring 2 years prior during a training session. She had not had relief up to becoming a patient in our office. At the time, the patient had been favoring her injured leg, stopped training, had trouble with home and work responsibilities and was getting progressively more frustrated and fatigued. She presented to us as the extremity pain progressed into low back pain, hip pain, and sciatica. Her situation was progressively worsening and she could not find answers. She was doubting if she would ever be able to feel like herself again. The patient was evaluated and her case was accepted due to the determination that she had significant loss of curve in her low back that was contributing to her symptoms. Patient was compliant during all treatment sessions and has had complete resolution of all symptoms since completing treatment. She enjoys an active lifestyle again without residuals."

Upon impact he felt his neck compress, which resulted in pain, spasm, loss of range of motion, and significant numbness and tingling which had been slowly worsening for several months. Physical therapy, medication, heat, and prior spinal manipulation without X-ray had been ineffective and made the condition worse. The improvement in my posture was something I could both feel and see throughout my treatment. The staff is extraordinary kind and both patients and staff seem to enjoy being there. Very relaxed feel while maintaining professionalism, and the flexibility with scheduling is also a big plus. Highly recommended!
