It took most of my life before I was able to open up about my condition and I shared my journey on social media back in October. I have had POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) since I was a preteen and struggled off and on throughout the years. Up until a few years ago, I had been misdiagnosed and had no idea what was causing my symptoms. I've met so many people since that post that have shared their diagnosis, stories and treatment journey that led me to researching even more. So much of my story has been a combination of treatments which is pretty common. Fast forward to today. Today was such a bittersweet part of my journey because it was my last neurofeedback treatment with Dr. Kilraine. I'm sad because I won't be seeing them twice a week anymore after months of doing so, (or getting to watch the Great British Baking Show during treatment) but excited and grateful for how far I've come. Simply put, Dr. Kilraine and her awesome team have given me more than I could have ever imagined. I feel like "me" again. It has been a long time since I've been able to do certain things and I've had such a heightened sense of self-awareness lately. I find myself feeling surprised when I physically feel really good or have less symptoms, pain, tachycardia, etc. I left her office today with happy tears with the realization of just how much they can change someone's life.
