How Many Chiropractor Visits Do You Need?

It's one of the most common questions we hear from new patients: How many chiropractor visits do I need before I feel better? Each person is different and each condition is unique.

However, in general, most patients start to feel better within 1-to-6 visits.

If you're experiencing new pain (acute pain), improvement often comes quicker. Once you're diagnosed and a treatment plan is designed, you should start feeling better within 3-to-5 sessions. Chronic or long-term pain often takes longer to deliver results.

    The Chiropractic Care Process

When you first come in, the chiropractor will do an initial consultation involving a physical exam and potentially other diagnostics. They will then design a treatment plan with specific goals and milestones for your recovery. Short-term goals may involve pain reduction or restoring proper range of motion. Long-term goals will be correcting the issue and strengthening the area to reduce the risk of future injury.

In most cases, it will be recommended that you have 2-3 treatments per week to start. As you achieve your goals and milestones, the schedule will shift to a maintenance plan with fewer sessions per week.

The chiropractor will continue to review your situation and adjust the plan as needed to help you feel better and move more efficiently.

You may also be given exercises or lifestyle changes to do at home. For instance, you might be taught stretches or given tips to improve your posture and reduce the strain on your body.

To really know how many chiropractor visits you'll need, come in for an appointment. We'll do a full review of your physical situation and assess your lifestyle and overall health, then create a customized treatment plan aimed at resolving the root problem — not just masking the symptoms.
