Achievements
Your first visit to a chiropractor typically includes a thorough health history review, physical examination, and discussion of your symptoms and health goals. The chiropractor may perform orthopedic and neurological tests to assess your condition.
Chiropractic care can help with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Cool Springs Chiropractic has documented outcomes for these conditions:
Yes, chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. While no healthcare treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects, the risks associated with chiropractic care are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief after treatment.
For your first visit, bring your ID, insurance card (if applicable), a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs). Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete paperwork.
Many health insurance plans cover chiropractic care in TN, including most PPO and HMO plans. Medicare also covers chiropractic adjustments for spinal subluxation. Coverage varies by plan, so contact your insurance provider or the clinic directly to verify your specific benefits and any out-of-pocket costs.
The number of visits varies based on your specific condition, its severity, and your health goals. Acute conditions may resolve in 4-12 visits, while chronic issues may require longer care. Your chiropractor will develop a personalized treatment plan and discuss expected timelines during your initial consultation.
What patients are saying about their care
"The patient developed a deep ache in her low back and right buttock over 5 months, making it difficult to play pickleball more than two games or on consecutive days. She had to drop a regular group she played with. After treatment, she gradually returned to playing five mornings a week, can play back-to-back days, and experiences minimal next-day stiffness. She now performs a 5-minute warm-up at the court."
"A surgeon told me what my options were and he was straight with me about it, fusion was on the table, it was my call, and there was no emergency. I didn't want it. I wanted to try everything else first. Sixteen months of this by then. The numb finger I could live with. What I couldn't live with was that after two hours in the seat the whole arm would go and I still had six hours to drive. My neck felt better first then I could check my left mirror properly a few weeks in, which I hadn't been able to do in a year. The arm is totally fixed and I'm glad I didn't have to do surgery."
"Being an accountant I have busy seasons and spend lots of time at the desk, I started getting headaches almost daily and it was getting hard to concentrate. I got tired of taking Advil just to get through the day. After starting care the intensity of the headaches stared to go down, then a few weeks in I was having stretches of no headaches. I’m feeling much better."

"I had a folder. MRI disc, PT notes, I brought all of it to the first appointment because I was tired of starting over. Eight months in I'd stopped doing anything on site that involved bending, which is most of the job, and I was pretty sure I was heading for surgery. The injection was the worst part in a way, because it worked for three weeks and then I was right back where I started. Decompression was slow. Nothing dramatic happened for the first few weeks and I almost quit. Then somewhere around week five or six the calf pain stopped, and after that it was steady. I'm on my feet all day again. What I notice most is that I'm not planning my whole day around my back anymore."

"I hurt my back lifting a pallet the wrong way and figured it would work itself out in a few days. Five weeks later I was still taking the long way around the warehouse so I wouldn't have to sit down, because standing back up was the worst part of my day. The leg pain was what really scared me it went from my hip all the way to my calf and the drive home was the worst 25 minutes of my day. After the first couple of weeks the leg pain started backing off toward my hip instead of running down. The pain continued to get better, it was gone below the knee. The exercises they gave me took about ten minutes and I actually did them. I'm back on full duty with no restrictions, and I'm sleeping through the night for the first time since spring."
