Your first visit to a chiropractor typically includes a thorough health history review, physical examination, and discussion of your symptoms and health goals. The chiropractor may perform orthopedic and neurological tests to assess your condition.
Chiropractic care can help with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Advanced Healthcare has documented outcomes for these conditions:
Yes, chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. While no healthcare treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects, the risks associated with chiropractic care are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief after treatment.
For your first visit, bring your ID, insurance card (if applicable), a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs). Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete paperwork.
Many health insurance plans cover chiropractic care in Ontario, including most PPO and HMO plans. Medicare also covers chiropractic adjustments for spinal subluxation. Coverage varies by plan, so contact your insurance provider or the clinic directly to verify your specific benefits and any out-of-pocket costs.
The number of visits varies based on your specific condition, its severity, and your health goals. Acute conditions may resolve in 4-12 visits, while chronic issues may require longer care. Your chiropractor will develop a personalized treatment plan and discuss expected timelines during your initial consultation.

The "initial assessment" feels like a sales speech, where Dr. Pisarek was trying to push more services and products. "The treatment" session took at most 10 minutes and cost $70 (Dr Pisarek added laser treatment in) and did not have any effect on my pain. Definitely not coming back.
