    Patient Experience

"Jennifer was unable to go up and down stairs at her house, stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and had difficulty watching her grandkids because of how bad her left hip pain had become over the several months she had it. After treatment at our office, she is doing very well with her ability to walk long distances, travel, go up and down stairs without restriction, and is enjoying her grandchildren to the fullest."

    Treatment Details

Jennifer underwent corrective chiropractic care at her office based on an initial exam that included a motion study X-ray, which demonstrated a lack of movement in several of her lumbar vertebrae, as well as moderate to severe muscle inhibition and weakness that was found around her hip flexors, glute max, glute medius, TFL (muscle the IT band attaches to at the hip), piriformis, deep abdominal wall, diaphragm, and lower back muscles. She tolerated Active Release Techniques to her overactive muscles and through fascial chains running diagnally on her body, as well as ART Nerve techniques to break free her sciatic nerve from some of the deep hip rotators and upper hamstrings on her symptomatic left side. We used NKT (Neurokinetic therapy) along the way to map out which muscles needed to be released and which ones needed to be strengthened, and we were able to achieve about a 80% improvement by the end of her treatment plan in terms of muscle activation. She still maintains her progress every 3-4 weeks with an adjustment, muscle activation treatment, ART where needed, and a brief symptom-based massage.
