Treatment Details
Lily came to us, having had several months of regular chiropractic adjustments at another clinic, and having little relief, or relief that lasted for a day or two. We performed a bio mechanical analysis of her x-rays as well as spinal posture analysis compared to a normal model, and found that she had improper movement as well as curvature in both her neck and lower back, both of which were causing her to load weight onto the posterior structures/joints of her spine excessively. She was treated with flexion distraction, mirror image adjusting (chiropractic biophysics) based on her x-rays, spinal, remodeling, traction, Active Release Techniques (ART) to hip muscles, quads, and glutes that were all causing weakness of her upper hamstrings, and adductors, as well as shockwave therapy. Additionally, she was brought through an increasingly difficult “performance” rehab program that was designed to first correct the specific dysfunctions she tested for, and then to challenge her as a high-end high school athlete. Accessory treatments like cupping and therapeutic massage were also helpful for her. She still feels mild achy pain in her lower back when she is playing the whole half or entire game for her soccer team, but no longer needs to be subbed off due to pain and inability to continue and reports feeling 80-85% better. Her follow up X-rays demonstrated mild curve correction as well great biomechanical improvements, and despite a monthly maintenance recommendation she continues to want to see us every 2 weeks since soccer is year-round and she is also in gymnastics.
